Global Commercial Director

The role

The Global Commercial Director will be a senior member of their management team, heading up all of our revenue operations and reporting directly to the CEO. With an already established commercial team of eighteen people, consisting of Agency Directors, Managers, Execs and Account Managers, they’re looking for a hugely experienced Global Commercial Director to join and lead the team forward. You’ll have direct line report of our Commercial Director and key senior figures on the sales team.

It will be a hands on, top-level strategic role, with day to day responsibility ranging from negotiating trading deals, setting & managing team targets through to educating and mentoring the team on commercial partnership deals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong network of agency contacts at the highest level and be able to introduce us to key people within the industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the sales team – establish goals, incremental metrics and processes consistent with meeting / exceeding sales targets.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional Account Executives and Sales Managers, creating a “deep bench” to ensure the company’s ability to hit targets.
  • Personally develop client relationships at the executive level and work closely with the sales team on account / prospect strategy – negotiate contracts, close sales.
  • Represent them at industry events, trade shows and conferences.
  • Implement sales management processes based on analysis of measurable results
  • Monitor day-to-day sales operations / pipeline. Develop long-range plans and budgets, compensation and incentive programs.
  • Ensure smooth communication between the content, creative, production and commercial teams.
  • Identify market opportunities leveraging them into new markets.

What they’re looking for

  • 10+ years commercial experience.
  • Previously worked in an online publisher.
  • Experience running a large sales team.
  • Strong top-level agency contacts.
